Paris possesses a unique aura that sparks inspiration and fuels the artistic spirit. Known as the city of light, Paris radiates an energy that transcends time and space. As you navigate the streets, the city welcomes you with open arms, inviting you to immerse yourself in its romantic allure. The pop-up expo at the beautiful Atelier Néerlandais (AN) amplifies this inviting atmosphere, infusing the event with good vibes and an infectious energy that spreads throughout the venue. The Atelier Néerlandais is a platform for Dutch design, the arts and the book: for cultural entrepreneurs. It is part of the Dutch Embassy in Paris, which founded the Atelier Néerlandais in 2014. It is situated minutes walking from the Louvre Museum.
As members of AN, Dutch artists from diverse backgrounds were invited, to gather to showcase their passion and talent. Amidst the breathtaking ambiance of Atelier Néerlandais, those 2 days were filled with artistic brilliance, new connections, and the unmistakable good vibes that only Paris can offer. Just like my hometown of Eindhoven, Paris is truly a city of light, and it leaves an indelible mark on your artistic soul.
Thank you so much, Lilian Widdershoven and Joan Mols for organizing this 2 day event, I has been a lot work and preparations. The vernissage on Thursday was superb and I had several very warm conversations. The 2 dance and 1 music performances were very nice, as dancers performing in front of the art works. Happy as well about the positieve feedback about my new artwork The Intelligent Cow. It was a pleasure to meet many new Dutch artists and I wish everybody good progress with their works and passion.Â
Lilian did also make a wonderful brochure with our artworks and their descriptions to take home and show proudly to our families and friends. I leave it in my own studio and gallery for future visitors.
I also had some time to work on my Paris 2024 project, to shoot some supporting content. I will share more information in the next months on this. These 3 days was inspiring and the days after I went to Honfleur to deliver a new artwork at Gallery Metamorphose. I enjoyed seeing this beautiful gallery, proud to have my work there, and enjoyed the meeting with the owner Philippe Siennicka. I have a great lunch and diner en did spend the night there. On Sunday morning I drove back to Eindhoven, thinking about my next visit to Paris .....
A bientĂ´t,
Paul Raats
